Taylor Swift opens music school
Pop star Taylor Swift cut the ribbon at the opening of her new music school in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (12Oct13).
The Fifteen hitmaker launched the $4 million Taylor Swift Education Center at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The facility will have an instrument room and classroom to
encourage would-be musicians to improve their skills.
Speaking at the launch, Swift says, "I'm really excited about this
music education center and the fact that right now they have three
different classes going on today. It's really exciting that we can
be here on a day when they're not only unveiling it, but they're
starting to actively use it today.
"We've been talking about different programs I can be involved in.
I hate to call it a lecture because that sounds like I'm yelling at
people, but we could do a Q&A (question and answer session)
talking to students here and a songwriters discussion would be
really fun to have at some point."
The school opening kickstarted a great weekend for Swift - on
Sunday (13Oct13), she is due to accept her record sixth
songwriter-artist of the year award from the Nashville Songwriters
Association International.
