TAKERS TAKES U.S. BOX OFFICE TOP SPOT AS OFFICIAL FIGURES ARE ANNOUNCED

Rapper T.I.'s new movie Takers has been declared the box office winner in the U.S. after a too-close-to-call opening weekend cinema fight with horror film The Last Exorcism.

Early estimates on Sunday (29Aug10) suggested The Last Exorcism was the top film, but the film has since flip-flopped with heist movie Takers.

Only $100,000 separated the two films.

Takers won with $20.5 million in earnings.
