Sick Adele cancels more gigs

Adele has been forced to cancel two more dates on her U.K. tour as she battles a chest infection.

The singer was forced to axe the first four dates of her trek, which was set to commence last weekend (04Sep11), as well as a planned performance at the Mercury Prize ceremony on Tuesday (06Sep11).

She apologized for the cancellations, and fans had hoped she would be back on stage in Wolverhampton, England on Saturday (10Sep11) - but Adele has pulled out of the Civic Hall show, as well as another gig at the same venue on Sunday (11Sep11), as she fights to regain full health.

A statement on her website reads, "It is with regret that due to continuing problems with a serious cold and chest infection, Adele has had to postpone her shows this weekend in Wolverhampton on Saturday September 10th and Sunday September 11th.

"Her doctors have insisted she recovers fully before returning to the tour. The shows will be rescheduled at the earliest opportunity... sincerest apologizes for any inconvenience caused."
