Sam Claflin wants children

British actor Sam Claflin married his actress girlfriend so they could start a family.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire star wed actress Laura Haddock in secret last year (13) because he wants to have children with her and fears their upcoming blockbusters will keep them apart for a while.

When asked if their work schedule was an incentive to tie the knot, Claflin tells U.K. Marie Claire magazine, "I think so, yeah - to make the promise that I'm always here, no matter what. As actors we'll go through different elements in our careers where we'll be kissing or spending a lot of time with another person of the opposite sex. There aren't trust issues because we're both supportive of one another and talk every single night; I think it was just that there was no point waiting. We both want to have kids eventually and why not start now?... Not that we are starting, like, immediately."

Claflin will appear in the next two installments of The Hunger Games franchise, The Hunger Games: Mockingay Part I and Part 2, and Haddock will become a recognisable face when upcoming superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy is released in the summer (14).
