Robert Pattinson planned premiere walk out
Robert Pattinson planned to walk out of the premiere of the latest Twilight movie on Monday (14Nov11) so he wouldn't have to sit through the film's sex scenes.
The British actor joined his co-stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart to walk the black carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.
However, Pattinson told reporters he planned to leave the screening
early to avoid embarrassment over the saucy scenes he filmed with
Stewart.
When asked how he would react to the first public showing of the
footage, Pattinson told Access Hollywood, "I'll probably have
left."
Fans of the vampire franchise began camping outside the venue last
week (ends13Nov11) to secure their spots for the big night, and the
author of the books behind the movie series, Stephenie Meyer,
showed her support by handing out signed copies of her Breaking
Dawn novel to devotees ahead of the premiere.
Meyer revealed she was impressed by the friendliness of fans at the
campsite, gushing, "They're really kind to each other, which I
love, and all very excited, and looking pretty good for having
slept on the street."
The stars of the film were also amazed by the devotion of the
campers, with Lautner insisting he couldn't bring himself to sleep
on the street - not even for a meeting with his favourite football
player, Tom Brady.
He says, "Honestly, no (I couldn't do it). The closest thing I
would do it for is for my favourite sports team or my favorite
athlete. I would not camp out a week. Tom Brady - you're not worth
it. I'm sorry! I love you, though."
