Rihanna directs fashion advertising campaign

R&B star Rihanna has stepped behind the camera for the first time to direct the advertising campaign for her new U.K. clothing collection.

The Umbrella hitmaker teamed up with bosses at high street store River Island to launch the range, which will be made available next year (13), and now she has shown off her camera skills by shooting the commercials with famed photographer Mario Sorrentino.

Uploading a snap of herself posing with three models from the set on Twitter.com, she writes, "Just directed my first ad campaign for my new collection with River Island, Spring/Summer 2013!! And that's a wrap at the end of a 2 day shoot w/ MARIO SORRENTI".
