Pharrell Williams' crystal sneakers are priceless

Pharrell Williams had a little 'bling' in his step during his appearance on TV show Saturday Night Live at the weekend (05Apr14) - his dazzling Adidas sneakers were covered with Swarovski crystals.

Designers at the company custom made the shoes for the Happy hitmaker, using more than 1,600 crystals.

A Swarovski spokesman tells Billboard.com, "Pharrell was inspired when he saw a pair of our crystallised platform shoes and he wanted to recreate the effect by customising his Stan Smith sneakers.

"He handpicked the size, shape and color of the crystals he was looking for and worked with our creative team to bring his idea to life... It took over 10 hours to hand-apply the crystals to create the effect he was looking for."

The jewel company's representative adds, "They're totally unique. We couldn't put a price to them."
