Open auditions set for Rock of Ages role

Julianne Hough will be starring alongside an acting newcomer in upcoming movie musical Rock Of Ages - director Adam Shankman is holding open auditions to find a fresh face to play her lover.

The big screen adaptation of the Broadway show already boasts a star-studded cast, including Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Mary J. Blige, and Shankman is looking for an acting newcomer to fill the role of Drew Boley.

Movie studio bosses are calling on wannabe male actors between the ages of 18 and 25 "with a real rock 'n' roll singing voice" to attend auditions in Los Angeles on 26 March (11), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Burlesque star Hough joined the movie line-up as Sherrie earlier this month (Mar11). Filming will begin in Florida in May (11).
