Nicole Scherzinger shoots down engagement reports

Nicole Scherzinger has denied reports she is engaged to her racing driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, despite her dad allegedly revealing the news.

The singer's father Alfonso Valiente reportedly told Britain's Mail on Sunday the couple is preparing to wed, adding, "My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him."

But the former Pussycat Dolls star, who has been dating Hamilton since 2007, quickly took to her Twitter.com page to dismiss the claims.

She writes, "Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its (sic) not true."
