Michael Jackson's three children took centre stage at a tribute show in Wales on Saturday night (08Oct11) and gave an emotional speech in honour of their late father.
Prince Michael, 14, Paris, 13, and Blanket, nine, attended Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium with family members to see performances from acts including Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and Leona Lewis.
The children took to the glove-shaped stage wearing outfits inspired by their father's career to introduce a performance by Beyonce, who appeared via videolink from the U.S. to sing Jackson Five hit I Wanna Be Where You Are.
Paris told the crowd, "We're very happy to be here on this special night to honour our father," adding of Beyonce, "She carries the torch lit by our father and it gives me great pleasure to introduce this woman."
The event was co-hosted by Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx and also featured a performance from Jackson's sister La Toya, who sang a version of In the Closet, marking her return to the stage for the first time in 20 years.
She told the audience, "I have put musical performance behind me for roughly two decades. But there will never be another magical moment such as this to celebrate Michael with his fans to perpetuate the importance of his legacy.
"I am honoured to share the stage with the incredible performers in this line-up, and I'm certain nothing would make my brother smile bigger or brighter than this tribute concert."
A performance by R&B star Ne-Yo was also one of the highlights of the night as he recreated Jackson's famous Billie Jean video during a spectacular set.
The concert closed with a rendition of Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, which saw Jackson's children take the stage again alongside numerous stars including Ne-Yo, Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight, and Paris thrilled fans by taking the mic to sing.
Michael Jackson's mother Katherine subsequently said of the show, "I have been extremely excited about this concert from the beginning, and it definitely did not disappoint. Michael would have been so happy to see just how much he was loved, and to see his fans having such an amazing time. He would have been so delighted with all of the artists and their performances, from the bottom of my heart, I thank all of the artists and people that put this amazing night together, an uplifting reminder of what Michael was truly about."
