MICHAEL JACKSON GIG LAWSUIT WILL GO AHEAD

Friday, 02 October 2009

A concert promoter's $20 million lawsuit against Michael Jackson is to go ahead despite the star's death.

The Thriller hitmaker's manager signed a contract on behalf of the pop superstar to perform in a Jackson 5 show with sister Janet Jackson and brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas next year (10). The deal with AllGood Entertainment banned Jackson from negotiating any other gigs - and when AEG Live announced a string of comeback shows in London to start in July (09), AllGood bosses launched a $20 million lawsuit against the star. Judge Harold Baer set a trial for October 2010, but in the wake of Jackson's death has now said AllGood must sue Jackson's estate.
