Machine Gun Kelly 'thought he was having heart attack' during birthday show

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly feared he was having a heart attack when he began experiencing chest paints during a concert on Saturday (22Apr17).

The Bad Things hitmaker was performing at the Seminole Casino in Florida on Saturday, his 27th birthday, when he began clutching his chest before halting the show and dashing offstage for medical assistance. He was checked over backstage and returned to finish the show.

The rapper took to Instagram on Monday (24Apr17) to reveal how serious the pains were and that he actually passed out backstage.

He shared a video of himself, with medical tubes and wires stuck to his torso, being tended to by paramedics, and one says, "your heart is beating pretty fast" while another adds, "Something is wrong with your heart... you gotta go to a hospital."

However, he tells them completing the show is more important and he only has two songs left and a man speaking off camera can be heard instructing the band to keep playing until the singer returns. The footage ends with the rapper, real name Colson Baker, heading back onto the stage.

"I took some serious damage to my chest plate/ribs this week and during our 6th song last night I collapsed backstage and thought i was having a heart attack," he explained in the caption. "What (TMZ) didn't report, was that i went back out and finished that show cuz we're f**kin champions and it was my 27th birthday and nothing can take me away from the stage."

The rapper and actor, who has appeared in films such as Nerve and Beyond the Lights, had previously revealed he had suffered the chest damage while filming his new movie Captive State.

"still on set. got punched in the chest 65 times. pretty sure i can't breathe. ready for this one to wrap," he wrote on Friday (21Apr17).

The health issue didn't seem to stop his birthday celebrations as he shared a picture on Sunday (23Apr17) showing singer Halsey pouring him a large alcoholic drink from an oversized bottle at Scarlett's Cabaret in Florida.

"I think I found the source of why everyone missed their flights this morning," he joked. "Those bottles are as big as a human body."
