Louis Tomlinson misses awards appearance

One Direction had to attend the NRJ Awards in France as a four-piece on Saturday (13Dec14) after Louis Tomlinson fell sick.

The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers turned up on the music awards show red carpet with Tomlinson notably missing and the singer apologized for his absence on Twitter.com.

He wrote, "Been sick all night. Still really unwell. Absolutely gutted!!. So sorry to let our fans down at NRJ... hope the lads smash it !!"

The group scooped the award for International Duo/Group of the Year for the third year running, while Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams and Sia won further prizes in the international categories.

Tomlinson is hoping to be well enough to perform with the boyband at The X Factor live final in London on Sunday (14Dec14), writing, "I've felt s**t all day but all the get well soon stuff is cool... I just gotta get right for the final."

His bandmate Zayn Malik hit headlines when he skipped a One Direction appearance last month (Nov14).
