LOGAN LERMAN TO TAKE OVER SPIDER-MAN ROLE?

Newcomer Logan Lerman has been named as the frontrunner to take over from Tobey Maguire in the new Spider-Man movie.

The young star of upcoming film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has revealed he's in talks to play the superhero's alter-ego, Peter Parker, in a movie prequel.

Appearing on Los Angeles radio programme The Billy Bush Show on Thursday (04Feb10), Logan Lerman revealed, "There have been a few discussions, it’s definitely something I’m looking into.

"It’s one of my favourite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series. I’d love t o have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it."

The new film came about when Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man 4 director Sam Raimi quit the project last month (Jan10), and Sony bosses decided to go in a different direction with their superhero film franchise.
