Leann Rimes suing cyber-bullies
Singer Leann Rimes is suing two women who allegedly recorded a phone call with the star and then went public with what she said on the Internet.
Rimes has checked into a treatment facility to help her cope with stress and anxiety brought on by attacks on her marriage to actor Eddie Cibrian - and now her lawyer has revealed she's planning to go after two of the critics who have made her life a misery.
Larry Stein tells TMZ.com his client has been victimised by a gang
of cyber-bullies, explaining, "Leann will take all of the
appropriate steps to address the harm that (she) has suffered as a
result of this criminal conduct."
TMZ.com has now obtained a copy of her suit, which was filed in Los
Angeles on Thursday (30Aug12).
Rimes claims Kimberly and Lexi Smiley engaged in a campaign to
trash her when she hooked up with their friend Brandi Glanville's
then-husband Cibrian.
The singer claims the Smileys secretly recorded a phone chat she
had with Kimberly earlier this year (12) - and then released
out-of-context excerpts that made Rimes seem "crazy and
delusional".
The singer is suing for invasion of privacy.
