Lady Gaga will be ringing in the New Year in Japan from New York as part of a live TV link-up.
The Poker Face singer will appear on national broadcaster NHK's New Year's Eve spectacular Kohaku Uta Gassen, which first aired 62 years ago.
During the annual show, popular Japanese acts split into male and female groups and stage a singing contest.
Lady Gaga headed out to Japan just before Christmas (11) for a series of promotional appearances and it is believed her live spot via satellite was signed off during the trip.
She will welcome 2012 in Japan hours before she celebrates New Year with a performance in Times Square, New York as part of the Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve show.
