Katy Perry: 'Taylor Swift tried to assassinate my character and that's messed up'

Katy Perry has taken another swipe at pop rival Taylor Swift, accusing the Shake It Off singer of attempting to assassinate her character with "little girls".

The Roar star recently opened up about her feud with Swift during a Carpool Karaoke segment with U.S. TV host James Corden, revealing the two singers fell out when Katy hired a trio of Taylor's dancers for a tour.

Perry told Corden she attempted to reach out to her rival to smooth over the drama, but Taylor wouldn't take her calls.

"She wouldn't speak to me," she said. "I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shut down and then she writes a song (Bad Blood) about me and I'm like, 'OK, cool, cool, cool. That's how you wanna deal with it?'"

Katy added, "It's really, like, she started it and it's time for her to finish it... I'm ready for that B.S. to be done."

But it's clear the feud is still bubbling - in a new interview with Britain's NME, Katy said she agreed to open up about the drama during her chat with Corden, revealing, "He makes me and the whole world feel very safe", adding, "No one has asked me about my side of the story, and there are three sides of every story: one, two, and the truth."

"I mean, I'm not Buddha," she smirked. "Things irritate me. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I'm also not a pushover, you know? Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls. That's so messed up!"
