The thief who broke into country star Kacey Musgraves' parked car and stole her new boots on Monday (04Jan16) has been arrested in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Follow Your Arrow singer had left her vehicle outside concert venue Third & Lindsley on Monday night, and returned to find her passenger's side window had been smashed and some shoes from her new footwear line with Texas company Lucchese and Charlotte Olympia gone.

Venting about the theft on Twitter, she raged, "Guess the a**bag who broke into my car tonight is gonna look pretty good in the @Lucchese1883 & @charlottes_web boots they stole... Broke my window. Stole my new shoes! Still calculating what all else they took (sic)."

Musgraves filed a police report about the incident, and on Tuesday (05Jan16), the suspect reportedly tried to return the two pairs of unworn shoes, valued at about $900 , to the Lucchese Boots store with the singer's receipt.

However, the manager became suspicious about the man, named as Darnell Cunningham, after recognizing the boots and noting the star's name on the receipt.

As he was being quizzed about the boots, the suspect grabbed the shoes and ran out of the store, but cops were able to track him down from security footage and the 30-year-old was booked on a charge of property theft on Wednesday (06Jan16).

Celebrating the news on Twitter, Musgraves simply wrote, "Stupidity leads to victory."

According to a police report obtained by editors at The Tennessean, the cost of damage to Musgraves' car was estimated at $500 .
