Justin Bieber's lawyers seek to block release of jail pictures
Lawyers representing embattled pop star Justin Bieber have filed legal documents in an attempt to prevent the release of images showing the singer in police custody.
The request comes after footage emerged of the Baby hitmaker being strip-searched by police in a jail in Florida following his arrest last month (Jan14).
The motion, filed late on Friday (07Feb14) by Bieber's legal team
states, "While in custody at the Miami Beach police station the
defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress
which show intimate personal parts of the defendant's body."
The documents allege the release of the video showing Bieber's
strip search is in violation of the law and it emerged before the
pop star's lawyers were made aware of the existence of the
footage.
Last week (ends07Feb14), it was revealed a police officer was
facing an internal investigation over claims she attempted to take
a picture of the singer while he was behind bars.
Bieber denies charges of driving under the influence, driving on a
suspended license and resisting arrest without violence and is due
to appear in court in Florida on Friday (14Feb14).
