Jennifer Lopez brings out special guests as residency kicks off

Jennifer Lopez surprised the audience by bringing out guests including Pitbull and Ne-Yo during the opening night of her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday (20Jan16).

The singer/actress celebrated the start of her Jennifer Lopez: All I Have residency by inviting her early collaborator Ja Rule onto the stage at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on two separate occasions during the evening, for their duet I'm Real and a remix of Ain't It Funny.

The guest appearances kept coming during the two-hour show with Ne-Yo, a singer who has never featured on a Jennifer Lopez single, replacing LL Cool J's lines on All I Have, the title of the show, and a cover of Debra Laws' Very Special, which is sampled on the track.

Jennifer performed both old and new songs during the concert, with classic hits including If You Had My Love and Jenny From the Block to newer singles Booty and Dance Again plus cover tracks including Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance and Latin classic Quien Sera (Sway).

She also changed costumes, designed by Donatella Versace, eight times with outfits ranging from a revealing diamond encrusted bodysuit and a glamorous velvet gown to sequinned sweatpants and sneakers, in a nod to her home neighbourhood of The Bronx in New York, and a flowing green screen dress, which makes her appear to be floating above the stage.

She ended the night with another surprise performer, Pitbull, who joined her for a rendition of their hit On the Floor.

A host of stars were in the audience for the show, including Justin Bieber, Nicole Scherzinger, Rebel Wilson, Kelly Osbourne and Derek Hough.

Following the gig, Jennifer uploaded a picture of a five-tier white and silver cake to Instagram.com and wrote in the caption, "What a night! #AlliHave #JLoVegas". The afterparty was held at the Mr. Chow restaurant.

Jennifer signed a deal to perform 40 shows over the next three years in Las Vegas. She goes on a break from the residency after 9 February (16) and will return in May (16).
