Jennifer Hudson in talks to land American Idol judge role
Former American Idol reject Jennifer Hudson is in talks to return to the show as a judge.
The singer, who went on to win an Oscar after she was dumped from the reality series in 2004, is seriously thinking about coming back to mentor wannabes on the upcoming 13th season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Insiders claim no one from the season 12 panel will be back and
that Idol bosses are looking to revamp the judging line-up to boost
falling ratings.
Kelly Clarkson, who won the first series of the talent show, has
been linked to a judging spot on Idol, but her aides insist the
Since U Been Gone hitmaker will not be back.
Fellow alum Adam Lambert has shown a little interest, but it looks
as if Hudson will become the first former Idol to sign on as a
judge.
Earlier this month (May13), Randy Jackson announced he was leaving
the show after 12 seasons. Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith
Urban joined him on the panel for the most recent series.
