Heather Morris voted off Dancing with the Stars in shock elimination

Written by . Published: April 25 2017

Actress Heather Morris was kicked off reality show Dancing With The Stars on Monday (24Apr17) despite achieving the season's first perfect score.

The Glee star and former back-up dancer was reunited with her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy after his three-show absence due a calf injury, and together they wowed the audience and judges with their rumba to TLC's Waterfalls, with Heather becoming the first contestant of the season to score the maximum 40 points from the judges.

However, their perfect score failed to secure them a spot in the next week and they were eliminated after finding themselves in the bottom two with former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and her partner Artem Chigvintsev. The result prompted loud boos from the audience and many fans took to Twitter to express their outrage.

"I'm O.K.," Heather said after she was eliminated. "It's a hard competition and I'm really happy that I got to do exactly what I got to do. It was very, very fun."

Maksim was less composed, telling ETOnline backstage he was annoyed with the "crazy" result, and explaining, "Well, I mean we've had a few (surprising upsets) in 24 seasons of the show (but) I just never thought that that one of my (partners) was going to be a part of that shock."

Heather was the fifth celebrity to be eliminated following Chris Kattan, Charo, Mr. T, and Erika Jayne.
