Harry Styles thrilled fans at a screening of his new documentary in London on Thursday (11May17) when he made an unexpected appearance.

Celebrating on the eve of the release of his new solo album, the One Direction star sent devotees into a frenzy when he showed up to a preview screening at the Electric Cinema in west London.

He briefly chatted about how much fun he had recording his new album at the fabled Abbey Road Studios and the pressures of fame.

His new Apple Music film, Harry Styles: Behind The Album, is released online on Monday (15May17). It features footage of the singer working on his new album, and having signature long hair chopped off for his role in war movie Dunkirk.

Styles told the fans, "I had a friend with me filming a lot of stuff while I was writing the album and I didn’t really plan on doing anything with it and he was just there and it was very easy for him to be around and not feel like there was a big crew there. It felt very natural to have him around."

He added, "I found this process of making the album very fun. It was one of the best times I've had in my life."
