Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is putting the finishing touches to an upcoming period musical featuring the tunes of 1980s girl group The Go-Go's ahead of a planned premiere this spring (15).
The Oscar winner has been developing the stage show with Avenue Q's Jeff Whitty since 2012 and the production is now set to debut as part of the 2015 Oregon Shakespeare Festival in June (15).
Producer Paltrow explains, "It's called Head Over Heels and we are going to workshop it in the spring at a Shakespeare festival. It's set in Elizabethan times with all Go-Go's music. It's pretty great. It's amazing; it's gonna be cool."
The story is based on Sir Philip Sidney's 16th century novel The Countess of Pembroke's Arcadia.
