Foo Fighters return from hiatus for Mexico City show
Rockers the Foo Fighters will end their year-long concert hiatus by performing live in Mexico City on 13 December (13).
Frontman Dave Grohl had to assure fans the band was not splitting up after onstage remarks he made at some of the group's final world tour shows left devotees fearing the worst, but, after the success of his debut as a documentary maker and drummer Taylor Hawkins' movie debut as Iggy Pop in CBGB, it appears the band is ready to hit the stage again.
They'll join The National for a gig at the 55,000-capacity Foro Sol
stadium in December (13).
The Foo Fighters last performed together in September, 2012, at the
Global Festival in New York, but several members of the band were
part of Grohl's star-studded spin-off act Sound City Players, who
formed for a handful of shows earlier this year (13) to promote the
release of his Sound City movie.
Grohl recently confirmed reports suggesting Foo Fighters were
working on a new album, which the band hoped to release in
2014.
