Eva Green brands Twitter 'masochistic'

Written by . Published: May 04 2012

Eva Green has vowed never to sign up for a Twitter.com account, insisting it would be "masochistic" to document her life online.

The French star shot to fame playing Bond girl Vesper Lynd in 2006 movie Casino Royale, but she's adamant she doesn't share the suave superspy's love of modern technology.

And she's even sworn off reading articles about herself on the internet as she's realised how spiteful anonymous critics can be.

Green tells InStyle magazine, "(Googling myself) was awful. I remember reading nasty things about my physique - they say terrible things about the work or what you look like. There's a lot of freedom on the internet, but it can be too much."

Asked why she refuses to keep fans up-to-date by signing on for a Twitter account, she replies, "Why would you do that? It's masochistic. It's not healthy if you become very self-conscious as an actor."

A Twitter account exists in the name 'Eva Green' but is not officially verified and has been inactive since 2009.
