Eminem teams with Beyonce for new collaboration

Rapper Eminem has returned to music with a new song featuring Beyonce.

Walk on Water is the first song from the Lose Yourself hitmaker's rumored new album, which is reportedly called Revival.

The track was released on Friday (10Nov17), days after Eminem teased the single by writing "Walk on Water" on a fake prescription card and sharing it online.

The song kicks off with the Drunk in Love star singing, "I walk on water, but I ain't no Jesus/I walk on water but only when it freezes," and she later adds, "'Cause I'm only human, just like you/Making my mistakes, oh if you only knew/I don't think you should believe in me the way that you do/Because I'm terrified to let you down."

In his verses, Eminem raps about his career and his fears of not living up to his fans' expectations.

"Why are expectations so high?" he spits. "Is it the bar I set, my arms outstretched, but I can't reach?.../I lose my grip like the flying trapeze/Into the dark I plummet.../Always in search of the verse I haven't spit yet, will this step just be another misstep?/To tarnish whatever the legacy or love or respect I've garnered/The rhyme has to be perfect, the delivery flawless/And it always feels like I'm hitting the mark/Till I go sit in the car, listen and pick it apart/Like 'This... is garbage.'"

The track comes weeks after the hip-hop star sparked speculation he is gearing up to release a new album with a viral campaign linking him to fake drug Revival. According to editors at Pitchfork, billboards for the drug began popping up across the country last month (Oct17), and Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, posted an Instagram photo of one of the ads.

Eagle-eyed fans noted that the "E" in Revival's logo is backwards, just like Eminem's logo.

Eminem hasn't released an album since 2013's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and although an official announcement has yet to emerge, it appears he is embarking on a promotional tour as he is slated to be the musical guest star on comedy show Saturday Night Live on 18 November (17).
