Singer Demi Lovato is preparing to reveal more about her personal life than she ever has in her new "in-depth" docu-series.

The Confident hitmaker announced last week (end05May17) she is teaming up with YouTube to document a year of ups and downs in new program, I Am, which will chronicle her personal experiences as she writes and records her new album, and Demi insists fans are in for a treat, as she has never exposed herself to the public so intimately.

"It will just be chronicling the journeys that I'm going on emotionally and spiritually," she tells news show Extra. "You'll just get to see me on a more in-depth level. You’ll get to see what it's like to be in my shoes and grow with me at the same time.”

Demi's fans have a lot to look forward to at the close of 2017, because, in addition to launching her docu-series, the star has also revealed she is also going to release new music before the end of the year.

“I’m in the studio recording and writing my album and that will be coming out later this year," she shares.

As the professional projects pile up for her, Demi is doing her best to stay balanced after reportedly breaking up with her boyfriend of six months, mixed martial arts fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos, last week (end05May17).

Last month (Apr17) she took a vacation in French Polynesia to rejuvenate before diving into her work.

“I've been enjoying where my life is at this moment," she smiles. “I went to Fiji and Bora Bora for 12 days… We went surfing, wakeboarding and we went swimming with the sharks, which was really fun."

Demi is also interested in landing a role on the revamped American Idol when the talent show returns to TV later this year (17).

"That would be cool," the one-time X Factor judge says. "I think I would be interested."
