Demi Lovato mourns loss of uncle

Singer Demi Lovato is mourning the loss of her uncle Billy, describing him as "such a joyful man of God".

The 23 year old took to Instagram on Monday (09Nov15) to pay tribute to her late relative, sharing a black and white picture of a smiling Billy with her 26.8 million followers.

The star was unable to be with her family during the sad time as she is currently in the U.K. promoting her latest album Confident, but she made sure to let everyone know that her heart and thoughts were with her loved ones.

"This is my uncle Billy," Demi captioned the picture. "Such a joyful man of God with a warm heart and incredible soul. Today he's being laid to rest. Please pray for his wife (my aunt Virginia), my cousins and once again, my world - my mimaw (grandmother).

"Billy... I'm sorry I can't be there today... I love you... We all love and miss you so much already."

The Cool for the Summer singer has already been through a lot this year after her beloved grandfather passed away in September (15), just months after her puppy Buddy was killed by a coyote. Once again Demi shared her sad news on her social media sites, posting a picture of her grandfather with her dog on Instagram.

"My two favorite Buddy's are now playing in Heaven," she wrote. "My heart is absolutely broken and I can't even begin to imagine a world without my Papa but I know one day we'll meet again and that's what keeps me going. I hate writing this... But RIP Papa... I miss you so much already. I love you.”
