Police in Florida have arrested a man posing as Adele's manager after attempting to score free concert tickets by using the superstar's name.

Scam artist Justin Jackson, who claimed to work for Adele, allegedly contacted a representative for Kendrick Lamar via email, seeking three passes for Miami's Rolling Loud music festival over the weekend (06-07May17), where the rapper was performing.

Kendrick's team member suspected the request was phony and reached out to Jonathan Dickens, Adele's real manager, to check the story - and promptly discovered the email was a hoax.

The rep subsequently alerted Miami police officials, who set up a sting and had Jackson and his wife Angel Lii arrested on Saturday (06May17) when they tried to pick up the $250 passes at the venue.

They have since been slapped with charges for grand theft and identity theft, according to the Miami Herald.

A third woman with the couple was not taken into custody for the scam.

It's not the first time Jackson has been caught trying to pull off a con - in 2007, he pretended to be Madonna's manager Guy Oseary and managed to convince employees at a New York store to loan him $2.4 million in jewelry, which he pawned at a store in Florida. He was caught and sentenced to two years behind bars, before he was released on probation.

He was also sued in 2014 for trying to land free goods by posing as Oprah Winfrey's nephew and as a former aide for President Barack Obama.
