Chris Brown checks into rehab
Chris Brown has checked into a rehab facility just a day after appearing in court on assault charges following a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.
The singer was taken into custody after allegedly lashing out at a 20-year-old man who was attempting to board his tourbus early on Sunday (27Oct13), and he appeared in court on Monday (28Oct13) to fight the charges. He pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour and was released on bail.
And now it appears Brown has decided to seek help for his temper
troubles - a representative has revealed he has checked into rehab
to tackle his anger management issues.
A statement reads: "Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab
facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and
recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life
and his career from a healthier vantage point."
Brown was scheduled to headline a New York radio station's
Halloween party on Tuesday (29Oct13), but organisers were forced to
scrap the event.
The singer's anger problems began at the beginning of 2009 when he
beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna during a fight on the eve of the
Grammy Awards. Brown is still on probation for that assault and
faces up to four years in prison if Los Angeles prosecutors feel
his latest arrest violates his probation.
The Kiss Kiss singer and his entourage were also involved in a New
York City club fight with rapper Drake in 2012 and a car park
scuffle with Frank Ocean in January (13). He also trashed a
backstage area and broke a window after a difficult TV interview
with newswoman Robin Roberts in March, 2011.
Then, in June (13), a 24-year-old woman accused Brown of assaulting
her after his show at a California nightclub. She alleged that he
shoved her to the ground, badly injuring her knee. The accusation
against him was later dropped.
