Chloe Sevigny: 'I have all my clothes from high school'
Actress and model Chloe Sevigny still has a wardrobe full of clothes from her high school days in the late 1980s.
The 41-year-old star first found fame walking for designers including Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, and while she has gone on to design clothes herself, she still dips into her old wardrobe from time to time.
"I have an extensive archive in Connecticut and have held on to
most of my wardrobe from high school on," she told the Jimmy Choo
website. "I sometimes unearth things like a pair of jeans, or a
sweater, T-shirt or boots, and cycle them back into my everyday
wardrobe. Or find an old designer piece I wore to an event and then
wear it to a wedding or a party."
Chloe spoke to the designer shoe brand to coincide with her new gig
fronting its spring/summer 2016 collection.
The campaign images take the form of a road trip with Chloe
appearing in a variety of different settings wearing various styles
of shoes.
"I loved the white LUC pump with the ankle strap and the red vinyl
at the toe cleavage," she enthused. "These shoes would be great
with jeans or a sexy dress. They reminded me of white pumps I'd
wear in the 90s, with everything. I love a white shoe, it's a bold
statement."
Chloe describes herself as a "vintage freak" and loves seeking out
one-of-a-kind finds in New York, where she lives.
"I have a path through certain neighborhoods in NY that have all my
spots," she explained. "I know who has what as far as era and
brands that I like. I'm mostly always on the vintage hunt; it's an
addiction. I think it has something to do with the thrill of the
hunt and the idea that you'll be the only one with the
garment."
