Carey Mulligan donating Met Ball gown to charity
Carey Mulligan has put the gown she wore to New York's annual Costume Institute Gala up for sale to raise money for charity.
Mulligan, who wed singer Marcus Mumford last month (Apr12), made her red carpet debut as a married woman at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's glitzy event, known as the Met Ball, in a futuristic gold and silver Prada piece on 7 May (12).
And despite making a splash in the dress as one of the evening's
co-chairs with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and designer Miuccia
Prada, the Drive star is gearing up to say good riddance to the
garment.
The 26 year old has put the stunning size 8-10 gown, which is worth
an estimated $4,000, on auction site eBay, alongside a photo of her
wearing the one-of-a-kind dress.
The proceeds from its sale will go to poverty and injustice charity
organisation Oxfam.
