Cancer-stricken Eminem fan dies a day after meeting rap superstar
A terminally-ill fan who was surprised by a visit from his rap idol Eminem on Sunday (11Jan15) has died.
Gage Garmo, 17, passed away on Monday (12Jan15) at his family home in Rochester Hills, Michigan, less than 24 hours after meeting the Stan hitmaker and chatting to him about their shared love for hip-hop and football.
The teen had been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in
2012, but doctors determined the end was near last week
(ends09Jan15) and gave him just days to live, prompting friends and
family to launch an online campaign to set up a meeting between
Garmo and the superstar.
Officials from Michigan-based wish granting charity Rainbow
Connection helped to make the dream become a reality, and Eminem
quietly visited the teen at his home on Sunday evening.
