Adele: 'I want Rihanna in my squad'
Adele would love to follow Taylor Swift's example and lead a 'squad' of female celebrities.
The comeback queen, who has returned to the top of the world's pop charts with Hello, admits she does have her own inner circle of friends, but they're not a glamorous as Taylor's squad, which is made up of supermodels, actresses and fellow singers.
"I've heard about a squad," she tells the new issue of Rolling
Stone. "I wish my squad was all supermodels. We are, in our brains.
It's not as interesting as some of the other squads that are around
right now."
But there is one star she'd love to be a part of her inner circle -
Rihanna.
"Maybe Rihanna can be in my squad!" she coos. "That would be really
cool. Oh, God. She's life itself, isn't she? I love her."
With or without the Umbrella singer, Adele is very happy with her
close-knit non-famous pals, who were there for her as her life
started spiralling out of control as her career took off.
"As (album) 21 got bigger and bigger, I started getting back with
all my old friends," she continues. "I needed them big time.
"I'm not sure if I'll ever not feel a bit overwhelmed when I go to
places where there are loads of stars. I always feel like I'm gonna
get thrown out. Or it's going to turn out to be some, like,
hidden-camera show. Like someone's gonna send me back to Tottenham
(in London, where she grew up)."
