Rapper 2 Chainz was forced to shut down a listening party for his new album on Wednesday night (07Jun17) when too many fans showed up.

Promoters for the the ASA Gallery event in Soho, New York were told they could keep the party going if they limited the guest list to 74 people.

Officials at the NYC Department of Buildings tell TMZ the party planners refused to comply and instead canceled the Pretty Girls Like Trap Music launch.

But the rap star insists the city fire marshall shut down the bash. New York Fire Department officials insist they had nothing to do with it.

Sources connected to the event claim promoters were told they could plan for 200 people, but fans were being turned away as they arrived.

2 Chainz is now on the hunt for a bigger venue, so he can reschedule.
