Young Hollywood

Hey, what's up, guys? We're hanging out in the Young Hollywood Studio with Dylan Sprouse.

Dylan Sprouse

That's me.

Young Hollywood

That's you.

Dylan Sprouse

I'm Dylan.

Young Hollywood

You're Dylan. What's up? We were just talking about video games. We have a lot in common here with uh, League of Legends, World of Warcraft.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah. Well, not so fast. I just said that I didn't like League of Legends.

Young Hollywood

Well, you're over it.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah. So I'm over it. I'm done with it. I deleted it. I deleted it. I feel better for it. I'm safer, I'm less angry.

Young Hollywood

I thought you said. It's different when you came in here. I thought, I bet he deleted League of Legends.

Dylan Sprouse

That's right. See, you're very astute. Anyone who plays League of Legends knows it's terrifying. It's a little addicting.

Young Hollywood

The whole gaming thing. I didn't even know that you went to NYU to study video game design.

Dylan Sprouse

I did. Little known fact. I don't do much of that nowadays, but I do do some voice work in the video game industry. Play a lot of elves, I don't know why. People are like, oh, you're an elf. Can you do one, like do an elf voice?

Young Hollywood

You'd have to pay me for that. Oh, okay. What's your rate? Let's see. Let's get this elf voice going.

Dylan Sprouse

Five dollars. It's just a five-dollar elf.

Young Hollywood

That is amazing. So if someone's playing a video game and they they could hear your hear your voice.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah, I might be in there. I do a lot of death screams. That's something. Like high-pitched girly death screams. They'll write all of the above. Like they'll write on a sheet. They'll be like, okay, die five times in five different ways. Like, oh, okay, you fall off a cliff. Like, oh.

Young Hollywood

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You die by fire. And it's really by the end of the day, yeah.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah. You're you're exhausted.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. NYU, though. That's cool. And then to study video game design, too.

Dylan Sprouse

I did. That is fun.

Young Hollywood

We've had Cole here a bunch of times, and he said you guys threw some pretty awesome ragers.

Dylan Sprouse

We did. That's cool parties. in the Choices Dorm, which was like the no drinking, no smoking dorm. So, that was our secret. But the cool the cool dorm. Yeah, we threw all the parties there because we knew that RAs wouldn't look.

Young Hollywood

Oh. And it worked. So, how do you get invited to a Sprouse party? I mean, I'm not inviting myself to your to your next party or anything.

Dylan Sprouse

You could you could invite. Yeah. We don't live in the dorms anymore, so that's good. That would be creepy.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Don't be like that. No, don't be like that. But I actually after NYU, I opened up a meadery. I know, I was going to ask you about that. Yeah. What is Okay, am I stupid? I didn't know what mead was.

Dylan Sprouse

You're really not stupid for that. Honestly, I get that question asked every day. Not many people do know what it is.

Young Hollywood

It's like honey wine?

Dylan Sprouse

It is. It's honey wine. And so I was going to say, we're opening up a bar soon. And that is probably where I'll throw those parties from now on.

Young Hollywood

That's amazing. It's in Brooklyn, right?

Dylan Sprouse

It is.

Young Hollywood

Okay. It's in the William Vale Hotel in Brooklyn, too. Oh, did you bring mead to your set on Banana Split?

Dylan Sprouse

Uh, not to Banana Split, but I did actually make a batch for the Chinese movie that I did. I was there for six months. So I

Young Hollywood

Oh, you can make it.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah. Well, that's that's how I do it.

Young Hollywood

Well, you make it. I didn't know if maybe you were just like, they'll make it. They're not recipe, making. I'm here, you know.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah, that's true. So I did that and I gave it as a wrap gift to everybody.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so you're like actually talented. You can actually make the wine.

Dylan Sprouse

I know. It's hard to believe that I do more than just play video games, but I have an ounce of talent. So that's pretty awesome.

Young Hollywood

It's perfect for Brooklyn, too, because they're like they always want to do what's cool, but but but people don't know about yet, you know, it's a Brooklyn thing. Otherwise known as being hipsters.

Dylan Sprouse

Hipster. That's the word. That's the word. Darn, here we are at Young Hollywood, and I forgot the name, hipster.

Young Hollywood

That's okay. Just go to Silver Lake. Yeah, that's that's good enough, right? That's hipster. Okay, tell me more about this movie, Banana Split. I'm obsessed with this movie. I love it. I feel like we can all relate to kind of becoming obsessed with an ex and then becoming friends with someone's ex. Um, and you get to play the love interest.

Dylan Sprouse

Yes. I do. I am the titular title of the movie. I am the banana they split. So, essentially

Young Hollywood

We can ask where that name came from.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah, so my character is uh, the love interest. Um, he and his longtime girlfriend in high school break up. She is still having feelings for him, so in the social media age, obviously, she can find out everything. So she looks it all up, ends up going to a party where he is there with his new girlfriend. And through happenstance,

Young Hollywood

I know, right? You feel like it was too soon. You know? Well, if that's part of the plot, okay. So, just watch it some more.

Dylan Sprouse

Also, Hannah Marks and Liana Liberato, awesome. They're very fun people to work with. I got along with every member of the cast and crew there, so And we were up in Syracuse shooting for a little over a month. Yeah. And uh, I was also allowed to bring my fat little goblin of a dog, so that was fun.

Young Hollywood

What kind of dog do you have?

Dylan Sprouse

I have an English Bulldog and he has dwarfism. So, completely genetic lottery, too.

Young Hollywood

Oh, that's so cute.

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah, he's like this big, and he's very angry all the time.

Young Hollywood

Oh. And he wields an axe.

Dylan Sprouse

He snorts like a like a Hoover.

Young Hollywood

Can you imitate that?

Dylan Sprouse

Uh, I wish I could try it. So it's like this, it's like And it's a lot of inhalation and then wheezing. And probably like the akin to what a dog would do if they were crying.

Young Hollywood

That's interesting that you would pick a dog like that. I always thought we picked dogs that are like us. So, you kind of relate to that weirdness of the dog.

Dylan Sprouse

I don't know what you're talking about. He's very.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, you do Yeah, you make those weird noises, don't you?

Dylan Sprouse

I do. I have a lot of weird noises. Especially when I sleep.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. I was telling them, you have some pretty steamy scenes.

Dylan Sprouse

I do. I like the beach scenes. That's a steamy beach.

Young Hollywood

Steamy beach.

Dylan Sprouse

Actually, I don't know if they kept it in the cut, most recent. But I did in one of the scenes I like threw a dead seagull at Hannah.

Young Hollywood

What?

Dylan Sprouse

There was a full corpse of a seagull. I think that

Young Hollywood

Was that an improv move?

Dylan Sprouse

Yeah, I just picked it up and decided to throw it at her. Um, I don't think they kept it. But it was really funny, and she was very frightened, as you can imagine.

Young Hollywood

Was she Yeah, that would hurt. I mean, seagulls are big birds. I mean.

Dylan Sprouse

Well, the thing is it was mostly decomposed, so it wasn't that heavy.

Young Hollywood

That's good. And bird bones are so light. Right? Yeah. That's what I think. Thank you so much for coming here. I'm getting the wrap signal here. Um, yeah, birds are light.
