The Fictional Reality of The Second Generation Wayans

Yo, my name is Tatiana Ali P. Yo, uh, cute kids. Um, this is Damien Dante Waynes, writer, actor, producer, director, creator of Second Generation Waynes. co-creator. Hold on. Hi. Mikey! Hi. Mikey. I get so much enthusiasm from this crowd. I love it. Great to have you all in here. Second Generation Waynes cast. So we have, we're half Waynes. Right, right. Yes. Half Waynes. So, first of all, the show I've read is described sort of as a meld between like Curb Your Enthusiasm meets like Entourage. Is that true?

I love that description. That is a good description. Uh, I'll take it.

You'll take it?

Absolutely. You know, the show in itself is really more towards entourage. Okay. It's about us coming out of the shadows of our famous siblings, making our way into Hollywood.

You've all though. You've all grown up in Hollywood. You've all been working in Hollywood since you were really, really young. It almost seems like there's like a crossover between reality and you know, fiction, basically.

Yeah. But, uh, uh, our show is loosely based on our lives. You know what I mean?

How loosely?

Well, every episode is, every episode is rooted from a place of truth. You know, case in point, you know, on the show we have Second Generation Productions. And in real life, we have Second Generation Productions. Just the way we go about it on the show is slightly different than we went about it in real life. Right. And you play the director. I play the director. And actor. Yes. Yeah. And Go ahead. Producer, director, writer, actor, creator. But enough about me, meet my cast. Yeah. I'm humble.

There's some fun facts that I found out about you guys. And I wanted you to tell me whether it was sort of more reality or more the characters. Okay? And feel free to embellish on, on any of these. True or or not true. Craig once spanked Damien.

That's true. That's true. I remember. I remember. I remember when it happened, Craig. I remember. It was at Uncle Marvin's house on Lilie and Way, and I wanted to watch something and you were watching the Discovery Channel and I took it and you said, "Give it back." And I said, "No, I'm watching this." And then you spanked me. Like a real spanking. Okay, but you deserved it. No, like a real life spanking. Yeah, we were younger, but it still hurts till this day as a grown man. That's what I'm saying. First of all, I'm not that much older than you to spank you. Not to be spanking me, man. Sorry. Okay, you're not going to like this one either. Craig always has an itchy beard and Damien suspects that it's dandruff.

I do. Absolutely. I saw a squirrel come out of his beard one time. Was that accurate? Uh-huh. No, no. The squirrel had dandruff. Therefore, you inherited the squirrel's dandruff. I saw it. I use Selsun Blue on my beard. You know that. George, you're going to be the target now. All right.

Craig and Damien say that when they brought you on board, you had no friends and potentially were a virgin.

Absolutely. Or murders. We're going to go with false on that one.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going to go with false. That is absolute truth. We're going to go with false. Was a murderer. Look, he was on the verge of being the real life Dexter and me and Craig saved him. I do not kill people. I do not kill people.

Damien had a crush on Tatiyanna when she was on Fresh Prince.

I, um, that's halfway true. Halfway true. I had a crush. You know, let's ask Tatiyanna. Tatiyanna, you speak on this devastating moment in my life. I know. I just heard this this morning. Okay. So, apparently, so Damien and I worked together when we were very little. We were like around seven or six on Eddie Murphy Raw. And apparently you got me a glass of lemonade because he thought I was standing. I was the older girl. I don't remember the lemonade thing, but okay. He wanted to give me a glass of lemonade and I didn't want it. Oh, that's horrible. Oh, man. Oh, man. Next question. That's hilarious. Oh, no. We good. We cool. Tati. Oh my god, Damien. Between you and Craig, you are grandma's favorite.

I, oh, that is so true. I'll call my grandma right now. And my grandma. I hate her, grandma. I'm the favorite. And of all the cast members, Tatiyanna's going to save them all. I'm going to save them all? Yes. But you save them? Maya is going to save them all. Maya is going to save them all. She saves them every day. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, she's the mother, sister figure that hold them all apart. Oh, what a good woman. HBIC.

What's the first job you guys ever had and how old were you?

My first job was a Burger King commercial when I was four.

Wow. Did you have to do the bite and smile?

No, no. I played with toys. It was, it was, I think DC Comic toys. Yeah. So I, I played with toys. So, basically, George has been making money for Very. Yeah. That was my first. You're the money of the group, right? You're probably still collecting residuals on that. Yeah. That's like, you know, Fast Sense every three years, you know, it comes in. My first job was watching Damien on set. It was, ironically enough. He was a kid in charge of a kid. He was watching me on Major Payne. He was my guardian. You're still doing it. You're still watching him.

And Tatiyanna, what was your first job?

My first job was when I was four and I, it was a, um, a Tylenol commercial. So you're probably still collecting residuals too on These are the brands that keep on giving. You know, I just want, I just want to do this one thing and then I'm just going to bury this. Okay, go ahead. Okay, can I, can I just do this for all the people? I just want to get this off my chest. Um, I remember the song that Tatiyanna sung. Oh my god. That made me fall in love with her. Okay. Oh, I kinda remember it. Why do birds sing, every up late? I love her, break of day. I like it happy.
