I mean, I could tear you down and beat you up right now. I guarantee you they would crack up. But I won't do it.

Young Hollywood

No, do it. Tear me down.

Oliver Trevena

I'm Oliver Trevena here with Young Hollywood at Universal Studios on the set of Guys With Kids, NBC's new show. Let's check it out. Here with the house Jesse Bradford, how are you?

Jesse Bradford

I'm I'm good. Thank you for that lovely compliment.

Oliver Trevena

I I meant it. I meant it. Straight man to straight man, Jesse Bradford is a very handsome man.

Jesse Bradford

Exactly. Yes.

Oliver Trevena

And we are we are on the set of Guys With Kids.

Jesse Bradford

We are.

Oliver Trevena

Jamie Lynn Sigler, how are you?

Jamie Lynn Sigler

I'm well, thanks. And you?

Oliver Trevena

Always lovely lovely seeing you. Always. Always a pleasure. And we're in your apartment.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

This is this is my apartment. Pretend apartment. Because that's the world that Jamie lives in. I hope I would hope it's my apartment. Otherwise somebody really loves me.

Oliver Trevena

Aaron Hayes, how are you?

Aaron Hayes

I'm good. How are you?

Oliver Trevena

I'm wonderful. We're here on the set of Guys With Kids.

Aaron Hayes

It's true. We are. This is real. This is really happening. We're in Hollywood Universal. And Aaron is a star on the show. Huge, huge star on the show. Did you hear that? They just called action. So, that means we have to talk quietly, I think. Let's whisper talk. Shall we whisper talk? Mystery on the set. What's going to happen in the center of your name? I don't know. We're going to get really crazy. Tempest Bledsoe, how are you?

Tempest Bledsoe

I'm good, but I was trying to take a nap. I'm here in my pajamas and here you are.

Oliver Trevena

You are. You are. Are these really your pajamas or your outfit for the show?

Tempest Bledsoe

A little bit of both. I like that. No. Uh yes, I'm actually wearing it for the show. But anytime I can put on pajamas, you know, I like to do that. But I had to get up out of bed to come see you, so.

Oliver Trevena

We feel very special here at Young Hollywood. You are a single dad on the show.

Jesse Bradford

I am the single dad on the show. The other two gentlemen both have uh wives and and you know, bigger families than me.

Oliver Trevena

How's that make you feel?

Jesse Bradford

Like my character's going to date lots of girls and that makes me strong or something.

Oliver Trevena

Brilliant. Brilliant. And you are Emily.

Emily

I'm Emily. I gave one of the guys their kids.

Oliver Trevena

That's brilliant. Well done. Well done. You and you gave them two.

Emily

I two, yes.

Oliver Trevena

Two kids?

Emily

Yes. Correct.

Oliver Trevena

What are the kids' names?

Emily

Violet and Freddy. So, we have an eight-year-old little girl, Violet, and a 17-month-old. A handful.

Oliver Trevena

threw that out there. Was that a guess?

Emily

Yes. Okay. Um it it is a handful, but a lot of fun.

Jesse Bradford

I have one kid on the show. But he is played by triplets.

Oliver Trevena

Ah.

Jesse Bradford

Most of which mostly just one cuz he's the most mellow child that's ever been born. I love that. I want to take him home. He's a perfect uh perfect actor.

Oliver Trevena

You're not a guy, obviously, but you're in the show. Um and you have kids in the show.

Tempest Bledsoe

Four. Four of them. Boys.

Oliver Trevena

Wow. All under seven. Anthony Anderson plays your husband, your lovely husband on the show. And he's actually the one that stays at home with the kids.

Tempest Bledsoe

He is. We're showing uh something that a lot of families are doing, but you don't see on television often. Uh we have a father who is staying home and parenting his children and raising them every day. And I get to escape and go to work.

Oliver Trevena

The way the world has changed. Men of 2012.

Tempest Bledsoe

Yes. And for the better.

Oliver Trevena

For the better. I love that. How long does it take to film one episode?

Jamie Lynn Sigler

Five days is our full process for one episode. But we we rehearse for three days. And then we do some shooting and filming the day uh on one day. And then the next day we bring in a live audience. And we do the whole show in front of them. And then we're done.

Oliver Trevena

It's a lot of improv, isn't it? Cuz you you don't know what's happening. It's got to be.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

I mean, the babies talk out of turn, obviously, and um do things that we're not expecting them to do. And it actually is really funny. It's real life, you know, it's funny in babies. It's real. They're real babies. They're real life babies. They're not robots. No.

Aaron Hayes

Yeah, babies will do anything at any moment. So as an actor, you have to be very present and be prepared to go wherever they're going to go. Because they're not acting, you know. Sometimes they're they don't want to be there and they're uncooperative and they're messing everything up. And other times, what they do that you didn't expect is gold. So it's it's cool. It adds this wild card element to the whole thing that is both frustrating and kind of interesting too.

Oliver Trevena

And you have two kids in real life.

Aaron Hayes

I do.

Oliver Trevena

So this is very easy for you.

Aaron Hayes

Yeah, this is easy because if they cry, you give them to a hand. When they cry or dirty their diaper, I just hand them off. And I get another one.

Oliver Trevena

Brilliant. Brilliant. The Hollywood way. I kind of like that way myself as well. This is straight up Hollywood mother. I mean, did you have any idea what you were getting yourself in for with all these kids and knowing that it was going to be like this on set when you first read the script and got attached?

Jamie Lynn Sigler

No. No, the script was originally just called Guys. They didn't tell you about the kids. See, that's how they got you.

Oliver Trevena

Sneaky Jimmy Fallon. Yes. And also Jimmy Fallon, producer. How's that?

Jamie Lynn Sigler

Awesome. He's so much fun. He's such a cheerleader. He's super excited about the show and super excited about everybody. He's the nicest guy, warmest, nicest guy, uh easy easy guy to work for.

Oliver Trevena

Everyone's saying that, so it must be true.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

It is true. He's really really sweet, very enthusiastic, um really looking forward to the response that the show is going to get. It's a real reflection of his humor, which is very well-intentioned and warm and funny. You know, not the kind of tear you down, beat you up kind of thing.

Oliver Trevena

Not over the top.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

Yeah, no, no. No one likes that.

Oliver Trevena

Well, people do like it, but we're not going to give it to. We're not going to do it. I mean, I could tear you down and beat you up right now. I guarantee you they would crack up. But I won't do it.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

No, do it. Tear me down. I can tell you want to in your eyes. You're like, you've got this little twinkle.

Oliver Trevena

I kind of do want to give it to you, you know, right here. But I won't. I don't. No.

Jamie Lynn Sigler

Okay. Well, we will wrap this up then because you're getting quite violent and that scares me.
