There's a way of blowing the bubbles. So, you have to blow it in kind of, you would say bullets.
There we go. I did it.
Yep, you got it.
What's up guys? Gianna Hollywood is back in New York City. I'm outside the New World Stages, about to take you behind the scenes at the Gazillion Bubble Show. I am now on the stage of Gazillion Bubble Show with the star, the bubble queen, Miss Melody Yang. I just saw the show. I am literally drenched in bubble liquid.
Oh, trust me, I am too on stage.
That's amazing. You guys have been in this theater for over 10 years now making bubbles.
We're going on 13. So, we're supposed to be here for two weeks, but we've continued running and we just kept going and it hasn't stopped.
This is international.
It is. It is. For sure. And it's like bubbles are for everyone, you know what I mean? It's It doesn't matter race, gender, age, really doesn't matter. I started when I was four and it did start out as like a science experiment for my father. So he was trying to figure out how to create larger bubbles. He wanted to bring a bubble show where you can create art forms and manipulate the bubbles. These are my props and my equipment that I use during the performance to create different forms of bubbles. And so we have different sized tubes for uh different bubbles and different solutions. So this would be a different liquid, that's different.
What's this liquid made of? Because I do bubbles at home. Everyone does bubbles. They're not these bubbles.
No, well, that's a secret.
I should mention early on that you're the world record holder.
Mhm. World record holder. That's right. The largest bubble. Yeah. And the The bubble is 170 feet long in length. I'm gonna blow a bubble inside this bubble. Okay. And there's a way of blowing the bubble. So, you have to blow it in kind of, you would say bullets, you know? Like you blow it quickly and you shut it up You shut off the air stream. Okay. Ready? Go. All right. So then it's also being able to not blow it too strong or also not too soft. You have to get like the right consistency.
or you pop the I'd fail.
covering for you. Yeah. Okay. A little bit stronger, a little bit more.
There we go. I did it.
Yep, you got it. And now one more thing, pop the top. So this one is more thicker for certain tricks, like I can do the square bubble with this one much easier. It'd be like I'm gonna make my first bubble. create the second one. So, what I did was I created the bubbles around these two larger bubbles. And you'll see a little square in the center.
I do? Yes, I do.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And that's where I place the smoke bubble to create the cube. The way you talk about bubbles, it it's almost like a metaphor for life. It's taught me how to be patient and how to be calm and that things will work out when you're focused and you just relax. This was the one where it's like I needed to master. It's called the planet bubble.
The planet Oh, yes, this was this was a crowd favorite.
Yeah. It's just creating this one is difficult because there's so many things that could go wrong.
What could go wrong?
But You can not angle your tube properly, you can uh not have enough solution dipped in or the moment I place the the tube inside the bubble, it could be too wet at the bottom. If there's any anything underneath the bubble, like foam, it's going to attach. So, it's just like anything could go wrong with this, so I have to do it precisely. It's gonna burst soon. So you know like the life expectancy of bubbles.
Yeah. Yeah, obviously. I mean, I don't know exactly, but I can tell that soon I wouldn't be able to if I put my tube in here. Yeah. That's amazing. The funny thing about bubbles is this show is quite humbling, 'cause me at home I bubble. It's kinda pathetic when you come and see this. So how can people kinda up their bubble game at home if they're not you?
I mean, there's different there's different ways, there's different ingredients. Dishwashing soap is great for making bubbles. It's just use a high quality one, which can make better bubbles. Okay. Um, we can use a certain detergents. Glycerin helps. Sometimes I add a little bit of sugar inside the solution uh if you're just making simple bubbles at home, to create like a stickiness to it. That helps. Um, and like I said, great water. Just make sure you have great water and it you can be able to make bubbles at home, especially colorful ones.
I did it.
