Kevin Smith Praises New "Batfleck" Suit

For many, Kevin Smith remains the supreme authority on all things nerdtastic. So when he says everything is gonna be okay, perhaps we should take it to heart…

I’m looking at you, Batfleck naysayers!!! Okay, so, nobody has yet seen Ben Affleck step into the famous black spandex of Batman for the upcoming Batman Vs Superman flick… HOWEVER, Smith has gotten a glimpse of that very batsuit which Affleck is slated to wear. Or at least a picture of it. And he’s pretty jazzed about it.

According to Smith, director Zach Snyder shared with him a photo of the proposed batsuit backstage at a Man of Steel DVD release Q&A.

“I instantly bear-hugged him,” Smith told KROQ. “You have not seen this costume, in a movie, on film before. And for a comic book fan, it was mind-bending.”

Even better, it was an actual costume and not a CGI creation (ahemGREENLANTERN). And even MORE better: “There wasn’t a single nipple on this f***** suit, man. It was fantastic.”

So, yeah, that’s a pretty glowing endorsement from a man who knows his comic book stuff. And as I have stated before, I am always up for something unexpected, so Batfleck is certainly an intriguing concept for me.
