5 Reasons to Admire Lauren Conrad!

Written by Nicole Koch. Published: March 03 2015

We all know Lauren Conrad -- AKA "L.C." -- and watched her grow up before our eyes on "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills". Known for being a bit of a drama queen (sorry, girl, had to say it), she’s grown into a classy and intelligent professional woman. Even though her massive success came about with the help of TV, she didn’t let her fame become a major part of her career. The girl has had to work super hard to prove she was more than just a pretty face with celebrity status, and it’s clear that her hard work has paid off! She’s now a highly respected author, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. I can think of a million reasons why she’s so admirable, but I’ve managed to narrow a list down to five!

1. We saw her bust her a$$ interning for Teen Vogue

Awww, this totally takes me back to my relaxing mornings watching this on “The Hills”. Now it might have been for the “drama” of TV, but all I remember is watching her run back and forth at the office, trying to get all of her intern duties done. She took the job seriously and her persistence got her other opportunities in the fashion world. She’s admirable for knowing she had to put in the work to reap the benefits! You go, gurl.

2. She’s written six books.

Tons of celebrities have written books, but this girl has written a whopping six! And those were all published within a three-year period. Her book Beauty gives lifestyle tips on dieting, working out, and makeup how-tos. Her other novels are a mini-series, with original characters Jane Roberts and Madison Parker. The girls have major drama after landing a spot on a reality show. I’m sure teens are reading these books like crazy!

3. She’s the co-creator of the companyThe Little Market

Lauren and her friend Hannah Skvarla opened The Little Market where they collaborate with artisan groups all around the world! They visit the groups, watch them create in their element, then develop new products or modify existing ones, and the products are shipped to California and made available to us through the website! Their goal is to “combat poverty, empower communities, and create social justice.” How cool is that?

4. She has a huge social media following

People care about her, and she cares about us! She currently has 1.7 million likes on Facebook, 3.3 million followers on Twitter, and 3.9 million followers on Instagram. ‘Nuff said.

5. What’s her favorite position? CEO

A few years ago, the blonde beauty was on Sway Calloway’s radio show, Sway in the Morning, and pulled questions out of a hat. She pulled the question, “What’s your favorite position?” She answered like a boss and said “CEO”. Damn, I knew I liked her.
