Kristen Bell entertains fans at Orlando hurricane shelter

Actress Kristen Bell is using her musical talents to keep Hurricane Irma evacuees entertained by performing for shelter residents in Florida.

The Frozen star found herself stuck in Orlando on Friday (08Sep17) while filming Like Father in the city, so she and her cast and crew holed themselves up in Walt Disney World hotel as they braced for the huge storm to barrel through the state.

Kristen opted to leave her safe haven on Saturday (09Sep17) to visit people staying at a local middle school-turned-shelter, and put on a mini-show for the evacuees.

Video footage of the mother-of-two belting out Frozen song For the First Time in Forever has since been posted on the school's social media pages. In the clip, she can be heard telling the families, "I hope maybe some of these songs are running through your head the rest of the day and will take your mind off of it (the hurricane)."

Kristen also shared a video clip of the performance on her Instagram page, and applauded the two strangers who joined her for the unexpected song-and-dance number.

"When youre #singinginahurricane, your volunteer back up dancers can & will steal the show (sic)," she wrote. "Richard and Rebecca everyone! #hurricaneirma".

Hurricane Irma made landfall in southern Florida as a Category 4 storm early on Sunday (10Sep17), but Kristen appeared to be safe and dry as she shared new pictures from her Walt Disney World hotel hours later.

"There are thousands of senior home evacuees in our hotel so... heres (sic) me dining with all my new friends!," she captioned a snap of herself eating with a group of elderly guests.

Kristen's sense of humor clearly hadn't been dampened by the hurricane as she also uploaded video footage of herself duetting with one of her new pals, an older man she joked had stolen her heart with his rendition of You Are My Sunshine.

Addressing her husband Dax Shepard on Twitter, she quipped, "Dear @daxshepard1, this is john. My side piece in orlando. I hope u understand. Im powerless over a man who serenades me (sic)."

While the actress has been sharing light-hearted posts from Orlando, which remains in the path of the hurricane, her Frozen co-star Josh Gad has revealed Kristen also reached out to his relatives stranded in the area and helped find them rooms in her hotel after they were forced to leave their homes.
