Dead & Company have rescheduled their shows following frontman John Mayer's emergency appendectomy.

The Daughters singer was taken to a hospital in New Orleans early on Tuesday (05Dec17) to undergo an operation to remove his appendix.

Mayer was in the city ahead of a Dead & Company concert at the Smoothie King Center on Tuesday night, when he fell ill, and the show was postponed, together with concerts in Florida Thursday and Friday (07&08Dec17).

Mayer is now recovering and the group has announced the New Orleans concert will take place on 24 February (18), while the Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando shows in Florida will be held on 26 and 27 February, respectively.

The 40-year-old singer-songwriter has been touring with the Grateful Dead spin-off band, featuring Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, since 2015. Mayer also has a number of upcoming solo dates scheduled, but it is unclear when he'll be well enough to get back on the road so soon after his health emergency.
