Aaron Carter was left in tears after taking to the stage at a gay bar in Florida on Thursday (10Aug17) for his first gig since 'coming out' as bisexual.

The I Want Candy singer performed at Hamburger Mary's in Brandon and debuted his new song Hard to Love, which he wrote about his ex-girlfriend Madison Parker.

Aaron dumped her days before he went public with news he's bisexual earlier this month (Aug17).

"I just want to say thank you for all your love and support with the LGBTQ community and my announcement," he told the crowd. "It means a lot. Yes I am a bisexual man... I just want to say I am who I am..."

After singing the track, Aaron broke down and again praised the crowd for their support.

"I just want to say thank you again for believing in me and even if you don't, I'll still love you," he said.

Aaron recently revealed he told Madison about his sexuality and when she didn't understand what he was telling her he decided it was time to move on.

"I had discussed it with my ex-girlfriend, and she didn't really understand it and she didn't want (to)," he said during an interview with The Bert Show. "And that was it! So we left it mutual and parted ways."

Aaron is now looking to the future, and while he's currently a "single man", he doesn't know whether he will end up with a man or a woman as a partner.

"Whether I choose to be with a woman or a man is my decision," he insisted. "I find men and women attractive and that's never gonna change."

He also revealed he is glad he came clean about his bisexuality before turning 30 in December (17), adding, "I just felt like it was something I needed to do... It was something that I just felt, like, was important and I needed to say. It was a part of a new chapter of turning 30."
