Lana Del Rey inspires new Mulberry handbag

Lana Del Rey has sealed her fashion credentials after she was unveiled as the latest muse for Mulberry.

The Video Games hitmaker recently signed a deal with Next Model Management and the emerging star was snapped for the March (12) cover of Britain's Vogue magazine.

Now bosses at fashion house Mulberry have revealed the singer is the inspiration for their latest handbag, the Del Rey, which goes onsale in May (12).

Del Rey says, "I love the design, it's a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style. It's an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me.

"Mulberry hasn't jumped on the trend bandwagon and it has a good mix of glamour. This collection is gorgeous."

Mulberry Creative Director Emma Hill adds, "I love Lana's nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined and elegant, yet with a beautiful practicality that would suit any woman."
