VEVO: The Future for Music Videos?
- Written by RJ Williams
There's been a big step forward in the music industry lately. A partnership between Universal Music Group and Google just brought about the leading music video service and it's got me hooked. It's called VEVO. Never-mind the history of Google's YouTube stepping on the polished boots of the record company suits. Hostilities put to rest, partnerships made, and now you get an ultra-hub of video content from artists of all makes, genres and notoriety. It's like a one-stop shop for premium produced footage beyond all the user-generated, guilty pleasure stuff we can find anywhere else.
It just launched this week and early reports predict it becoming the biggest music related site on the net. The cool thing about VEVO is I can create my own playlist or browse other playlists so I can have a constant stream of my favorites and even stumble upon some great ones I haven't seen. So get used to this site because it soon may be the only way to legally find or embed your favorite music videos. One that I find myself going back to is 50 Cent's video for "Do You Think About Me." Awesome song so check out my handy VEVO embed here...
