There are many different ways to lend a hand to your fellow man in this world: volunteering, donating money, writing letters to politicians… and skydiving!
Friends to Mankind is a charitable organization whose mission is to find new and innovative ways to get people involved with other special charitable causes by holding unique fundraising events to get the word out. Recently, they teamed up with the Somaly Mam Foundation to hold the second annual 18 for 18 Skydive event to raise funds for the SMF’s PROJECT RESCUE initiative, which actively aids victims of human trafficking in Southeast Asia. Our own host, Oliver Trevena, just so happens to be a Brand Ambassador for another anti-trafficking organization, Not For Sale, so guess who we sent up in an airplane to make an 18,000-foot plunge?
He certainly wasn’t alone, though! Friends to Mankind Ambassador Serinda Swan accompanied him on his lofty journey, and “Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell was also on hand for moral support. In fact, several celebrities joined in on the fun to raise awareness for this great cause, including Cassie Scerbo, Renee Olstead, Hill Harper, and many more! It’s a long way to go to spread the word about a tragic epidemic, but we think it’s so worth it. Check out Oliver’s adventures below, and be sure to click on the links above to find out how YOU can support these amazing organizations and campaigns!
