3,2,1...TAKEOFF

It is almost 2 ½ years to the day since we launched YoungHollywood.com. It is kind of ironic and yet fitting that today marks the launch of the completely redesigned Young Hollywood.

Over the last few years we have accomplished a lot. We've had partnerships with the most powerful media companies in the world: Yahoo, Google, Entertainment Tonight, MySpace, TV Guide - the list goes on and on. Over 100 million people have seen our content. Our limited edition apparel has been sold in one of the hottest stores around - Fred Segal. We've interviewed some of the biggest celebrities on the planet including David Beckham, 50 Cent, Miley Cyrus, Michael Phelps, Jonas Brothers and Diddy to name just a few. We've created advertising campaigns for the biggest brands in the world including the Verge To Emerge campaign, which will now become an annual event.

It's all kind of surreal when you think about how the Young Hollywood brand didn't even exist a few years ago and now it's slowly becoming a household name. It's always interesting when I receive a call saying "I just saw someone wearing the YH hat at the gym" or "I just saw YH playing at the gas station pump while I was getting gas." People continually say, "Your stuff is everywhere." Well, it's soon to be seen in even more places.

There are lots to look forward to in the next few months. We have a new partnership with askmen.com. We now have our own channel on Yahoo! Sports. Also, we're starting to create long form series; we've expanded our relationship with TV Guide and have entered into a long-term partnership with Hulu. Our BlackBerry app will launch, as will our Winmo, Android, Palm Pre and many more"¦this is just how we will be closing out 2009!

2010 is even more exciting. YH will be going international for the first time with tons of new distribution that will be added to our network, expanding our reach even further. We will be introducing a spin-off companion site to YH focusing on a vertical that has been very popular for us, and YH will even be expanding to television. This is just a small sample of what you can look forward to. So as you can see we are very busy over here.

With all of this going on, why the new site you ask? A quote I've always liked, "Change is hard"¦but stagnation is fatal" We're always striving to enhance the experience for our audience. While yes, we have had great success and YH has been working well, we always strive to make YH the best it can be. This means lots of really cool improvements including this blog you are reading right now. We have also created a new vertical - Sports - and since athletes and celebrities are intersecting more than ever we felt it was important to create a video channel dedicated to this. We've also added "The Scene," where we've handpicked those we believe are some of the most influential people in the Hollywood Scene and have given them a platform to show you what really goes on in Hollywood.

Thanks for being with us on the journey so far, but the best is yet to come as this journey has only just begun"¦
