Back in the day (that is, the early-‘90s) when Adam Sandler ruled “SNL”, we all knew he was going to be a star that would be just too much for that late night sketch show to contain. When he left in 1995, he hit the big screen with Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, and a ton of other movies that have become comedy classics and has never looked back!

 

A decade later, an unknown comedic actor named Andy Samberg stepped into Studio 8H and brought a new energy to the show that seemed to have been missing since Sandler left. Although their styles are a lot different, I can’t help but feel that Sandler and Samberg were sort of cut from the same cloth.

 

So, I guess it was inevitable that these two would eventually end up in a movie together… as, of all things, father and son! That’s the premise behind That’s My Boy, opening June 15. Andy plays a successful businessman who just happens to be the product of “an appropriate teacher-student relationship.” Sandler is the deadbeat dad who tries to reconnect with the son he, more or less, grew up with.That concept certainly lends itself not only to a lot of raunchiness and a lot of laughs, but it’s also great to see these two generations of great SNL alums come together!

 

The movie also features some other great folks too, including “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester, singer Ciara, and the Ice Man himself, Rob Van Winkle, who plays an exaggerated version of his famous Vanilla Ice persona! It’s a collection of talent too irresistible to pass up, so we just had to gather them all to the YH Studio!
